Bette Addington: Remembering Al Cichy [beats by dre on sale]

It was Tuesday, April 26. That day will be embedded in many employees and friends close to the late Al Cichy. As the community of Bakersfield heard about the horrible incident that morning of an elderly couple being ran over by a runaway car driven by a man under the influence, little did we know how close they were to all of us. By mid-afternoon, the news spread like wildfire and we learned it was Al,adidas superstar shoes Handbags are especially designed to offer the elegant and attractive look to you that you have ever dreamed of the Head Lane Mechanic at Regency and his wife, Annabelle, who were the victims.

In the days that followed, Regency Lanes was stunned and in shock over what had happened. Most Regency bowlers knew Al as the guy who wore either a patriotic T-shirt or blue mechanic shirt ,that worked and got all the lanes to work when they broke down or saw him working on the computer in the office. But we soon learned from the news how neighbors and the Cichy's church reflected on what a special couple they were, how their love for each other was so evident and how much they contributed to their church and community. All of this brought to light how sad it is that we never really know how special someone is until they are gone. This is so much the case with Al Cichy.

A week later, Regency's first Manager, Dale McVey, drove from Vegas to be here for Al and Annabelle's services and had some time to reflect just how special a guy Al was. I met up with him last Tuesday night at Regency Lanes along with his friend John Trino, who also knew Al very well.

Trino, who used to be a bowler along with his brother Jim, together bowled as juniors and bowled many years ago on the Bakersfield College league, quit bowling in the late '60s and early '70s at Freddie's and that's where he met Al. Their friendship continued to this very day as he would meet Al at least once a week for breakfast at either Cindy's or the Double Tree. Trino said Al, "was an exceptional man".

Dale McVey then began to unfold the unbelievable journey of Al's life. Al was born in Chicago and was left abandoned by his parents in a drawer in a hotel room and then was adopted. His adopted mother died when Al was still quite young and his adopted dad remarried and life continued to be tough for young man, giuseppe zanotti Supreme Blue is in fact not a primarily blue shoe. Indeed, on my particular pair of this shoe, the primary color is white Al. He enlisted in the Air Force and served for four years and developed a friendship with a guy also serving in the Air Force who was from Bakersfield. Al moved to Bakersfield as his friend had offered him a place to stay. Life again was tough for Al but he made the most of what he had. He was working at a service station in the mid-60s when he caught the eye of the young McVey who, at that time, worked at Freddie's Top of the Hill bowling center. McVey, the manager at that center, convinced the owner to hire Al because he saw potential in Al. Al quickly was taken under the wing of Bob Campbell and his job at Freddie's quickly led to working on the machines or anything mechanical at the center. But life was still tough for Al as he had no means of transportation for this job but that did not stop him as he would walk from his home in Oildale all the way to Freddie's on Mt. Vernon to and from work each and every day. McvVey added,More mysteries and new treasure will be discovered in adidas forest hills, and a fantasy world will be presented with you. "I don't know how many pairs of shoes he went through!" Al was like a magnet to learning how to make machinery work. McVey said, "Al is the only guy who could tell you every dime he spent on a machine." "He made parts for the machines." Cichy's, or "Cheekie as he was nicknamed when he worked at Freddie's" knowledge quickly advanced as he took computer classes when he was off work. If the computer classes didn't give him the knowledge he felt he needed to complete tasks, he would take a video of what he needed to learn and study it until he understood how to make something work right. In no time, Al "had all the machines at Freddie's named!"
